We'd like to steal an idea from DevOpsCV and devote June's meeting to a workshop on the Elixir language. We'll be going through the tutorial found at https://howistart.org/posts/elixir/1. Attendees will each work through the tutorial while one of us leads the process and facilitates.

Topic: Functional Programming

This month we'll be focusing on functional programming languages such as Clojure, Scala, Erlang and F#. The conversation will be loosely centered around the basic concepts and benefits and drawbacks of functional programming.

Topic: NoSQL

NoSQL is the clear preference for this month's topic. We'll start by exploring the overall NoSQL landscape (to the extent that knowledge in the room allows) and then narrow down to Document Stores, as our expertise seems to cluster around this. That said, as this is a mostly unstructured format, we'll let the direction of the conversation evolve organically.
